I've Been Somewhat Preoccupied..

Preoccupied. I bet most of you didn’t think we would be so preoccupied in 2020. Preoccupied with the pandemic, return to schools, USPS, employment, election..I’ve been encountering a whole lot of stress these days added onto my usual amount of stress..which has made it very difficult for me to focus on any large projects at the moment.

Luckily, for a few hours every day, I am able to focus on my job..painting, teaching, filming, writing. I am very very grateful for the online community that I teach in during these difficult times. During quarantine, I am able to pop online and speak to anyone almost anytime! Hunkering down with work is a welcome escape from worrying about general things. We are going to be ok..I keep telling myself.

Quarantine is also producing some interesting art, I must say.. things that have me stretching out of my comfort zone and acting a little bit different. I don’t think I have ever completed this many paintings in a 5 month period.. Painting feels good. Stretching feels good. Art feels good.
