Teach Art to Your Children v 2.2

shot taken with mom's fancy camera

Today we're going to dabble in photography! Grab your camera phones, point-and-shoots and take that DSLR out of the box. It's time. Have your child arrange his or her favorite collection on a table in a sun-lit room. Discuss the arrangement of the cars, dolls, books...and  give the camera to your child!

Experiment with close-ups, distance shots and lighting. Have your child notice where the shadows are in the photograph and practice arranging the elements until the shadows do not hinder the objects in the photograph. You can also take pictures with the flash on and with the flash off. Show your child the differences between the two and talk about which you like best!
