Do Adjust Your Set

I was recently working on a small fleet of small art. The paintings measured about 5x5 inches each and I was having a tough time getting all of the usual Julification into the tiny space. If you find yourself in a similar predicament, try following these tips:

First- put down your favorite paint brush and look for it’s smaller cousin. Don’t think you will be able to paint using the same brush you use on your larger work.

Second- With less real estate to begin with, you’ll probably have to edit your usual painting motions too. Think tiny movements with the tiny brush instead of your usual flamboyant brush strokes.

Third- It may take some getting used to, but on a smaller painting, you’ll use a smaller amount of paint.

Just so you know.. I failed all three of these pointers when I started. By my second day though, I had a better handle on everything. It happens. :) Got any tips for going small?
