Search and rescue..

These are my favorite pencils. One is missing....I think I know which color it is...and I have called out for the search and rescue team to gather for a briefing. He's got to be around here somewhere... we won't rest until he is safely returned.

These are my favorite pencils. I use them in probably every painting I make. Every painting I make runs into trouble because of these pencils, though.. so we are breaking up. Dry media like this always darkens once hit with fixative...and if I use these pencils, I can't avoid fixative... and since every time I use fixative on these pencils, the pastel color is darkened... well...that bothers me... so I am switching to a new type of pencil...which I have field tested with said fixative...and which holds it's color.

So..I'll feel sad when I look at the tin for a few weeks...but I will get over it... and these pencils? They will live happily in their tin until another project comes calling their name.
